The first, taking place on February 28th is entitled Insolvency Procedures in Guernsey. It will look at the corporate insolvency regimes in Guernsey and review the statutory framework applicable to administrations and liquidations there.
A case study will be used to highlight potential issues and provide practical guidance in joint appointments where one appointed adminstrator or liquidator is in Guernsey and the other is in the UK. More details are available here.
Insolvency Procedures in Jersey takes place on March 4th and, while many insolvency professionals appreciate that Jersey has a separate and distinct legal system to the UK, many are surprised to discover the actual scope and nature of those differences. Jersey’s laws are heavily influenced by their French ancestry.
The hour-long webinar provides a guide to the basic Jersey legal processes, and will cover: winding up solvent and insolvent Jersey companies; désastre, a Jersey species of bankruptcy for companies and individuals; schemes of arrangement; and how to deal with insolvent trusts.
