The new costs budgeting provisions (CPR) come into force from 22 April 2014. The amendments are to CPR 3.12, and increase the limit above which costs budgeting is rendered unnecessary from £2m to £10m in all courts (including the Commercial Court).
The Commercial (and Admiralty) Court(s) have to date enjoyed complete exemption from the costs budgeting regime.
