The packed agenda includes a light-hearted overview of the economy from Tim Harford, Financial Timescolumnist and author of The Undercover Economist. This is followed by sessions on bad banks and the Irish model, charities and not-for-profit organisations, and personal insolvency and the implications of pay day loans, among others.
The afternoon is devoted to fraud and its repercussions on insolvency work. Fraud and the misappropriation of funds is a growing problem in the UK and these activities can do serious harm to businesses of all sizes. The insolvency profession needs to be aware of the warning signs and know the appropriate channels to take action.
Richard Saunders will be describing solutions available from the legal profession when dealing with fraud in insolvency cases, and the practicalities and implications of these methods.
